Spring Style Guide for the Office

Spring Style Guide for the Office Transitioning from winter to spring is an exciting time for wardrobes. It’s great because you can pack some of those heavy sweaters away and actually have some fun with your style. Spring invites experimenting with new colors, patterns and trends, but what about at the office? I’ll show you how you can play around with your spring style while keeping it appropriate for business meetings and long days at the office. Bring Out the Florals Every spring, florals squeeze their way back into our wardrobe. But this spring, there are so many ways to mix up the classic trend. Pairing an oversized floral pattern with a bold color will definitely brighten up those office halls. As long as you keep it simple up top, with a solid neutral, you can mix it up with a floral pencil skirt.  Don’t Forget Pastels According to Glamour Magazine, yellow is huge this season. Colors are an easy way to get your office wardrobe geared up for spring because all it takes is a pop of color under a blazer or on your necklace. You can never go wrong with pastels when it comes to spring fashion, so consider investing in a few basic blouses that you can rotate regularly.  Utilize Your Prints Floral isn’t the only pattern you should integrate this season. The office lives for printed suits, and this season, there are many options to choose from. Gingham is everything this spring, and it’s one of the easiest styles to incorporate. Find yourself a gingham button-up shirt that can be paired with a pencil skirt or a pair of slacks. This is an awesome way to stay conservative, so you feel professional and ready for work but still on trend. Spread Some Sheer Although you can’t show up to the office baring it all, you can still take advantage of the sheer trend. Finding a neutral sheer top that can be layered under a sweater (and over a camisole) is a perfect way to customize this trend â€" and keep it professional.  Shoes Matter If you’re feeling uneasy about mixing some vibrant colors and patterns into your closet this spring, don’t worry â€" just focus on your shoes. Adding a pop of color below the ankle is a terrific opportunity to brighten up your wardrobe while sticking with your old faithful neutrals everywhere else. A black pantsuit can instantly become spring ready with some bold footwear. There are many different shoe designs taking over this spring, so it should be easy to find one that works for you. When in Doubt: Shirt Dress Shirt dresses are making their grand debut this season, and there’s really no excuse not to rock one to the office. While other dresses can be questionable to wear in professional settings, this trend should be a no brainer. You get all the perks of wearing a comfortable dress to the office, but still look professional and put together. This trend brings a masculine vibe that can be fun to mess around with. You can keep it neutral or add a splash of color, but definitely consider adding a skinny belt to this look. Play Polo Your old favorite is back, better than ever, and ready for casual Friday. Polo styled shirts are great because they give you comfort and the professionalism of the collar. They can be found in all colors and patterns, which means there is plenty of room to bring in some fresh spring shades. While tons of top designers will be showing off their takes on the classic polo, you’ll still be able to find them at any department store. Integrating a few of these trends from this spring style guide into your office wardrobe will definitely make you feel fresh and professional.
